Bad PPT vs. Good PPT

Five things I dislike about a bad PPT presentation:

1) Distracting slide transitions (spinning, flashing, lots of movement)

2)Slow transitions 

3)Too many words/information on one slide

4)If it is too plain (not aesthetically pleasing)

5)Too flashy or too many graphics/pictures

PPT presentations are useful because they aid in the audience reception of a subject. If someone is presenting a lecture, not only can the audience listen, but they can also visually engage. This will allow them to associate pictures with the subject which can make a presentation far more memorable.

My Experience with Excel

So far my experience with Excel has been surprisingly easier than I had thought. I have learned how to organize data without wasting my time to fix each cell individually. Also, with conditional formatting I can clarify, organize, and differentiate between the data within the table. I will be able to use these skills to organize grades or even with event planning for the clubs I am involved in on campus. Learning more formulas would be helpful. I like that the program has the capability and diversity to strategically personalize the table, but all the steps are tedious and hard to find sometimes.

Good Advice

For new students taking CS1300 next semester, this class will stretch your technological capabilities to a whole new level. Make sure to pay attention in class, ask questions if you do not understand something, do all of the assignments, and you should easily make an awesome grade!

My Favorite Websites

My top three favorite websites were made by Katy Silva, Riley Newson, and Katie Whittaker. They all did an exquisite job making their sites interesting, fun, and informative.

Katy Silva's website immerses the viewer into an artsy atmosphere. Her aesthetically pleasing webpages presented her information with flare. It was interesting to see Katy's personal involvement with the art shows as well as her taste in art.

Riley Newson's website was a wonderful compilation of info about herself. Her topics were quite unique and fascinating--like the fact that she joined a boy's lacrosse team and lived in Hawaii!

Katie Whittaker's website was deliciously appetizing! Not only could I enjoy looking at the artistic cupcake designs, but also, I learned how to make some of the cupcake recipes. Her website is not only cute, but practical. You can really learn and benefit from it!
